HOW TO POP ART

Hey all,

The following is information intended to supplement what we have learned in class.  Please take the time to view all the videos and read all of the information.

The key characteristics of Pop Art

•Recognizable imagery, drawn from popular media and products.

•Depiction of popular consumer products.

•Usually very bright colors and high contrast.

•Flat imagery influenced by comic books, newspapers, photographs.

•The use of Ben‐day dots.

•Images of celebrities or fictional characters in comic books, advertisements and fan magazines.

•In sculpture, an innovative use of Media.
